We understand the requirements of the Comprehensive
Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Washington's
Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), and other state-equivalent laws that
require completion of remedial investigation/feasibility studies for
contaminated sites. Often these sites have multiple contaminants and
complicated site conditions. Additionally, "standard" cleanups often
cost more that the property is worth. Therefore, we use risk-based
assessments and cleanups to restore these sites. Our experience includes:
|
- Investigation and assessment of site characteristics
- Identification and assessment of contaminant migration pathways
- Evaluation of public and environmental health risks
- Identification of appropriate cleanup levels, "remediation
levels", and restoration time frames
- Identification and evaluation of alternative techniques for remediation
- Selection of suitable remedial actions
- Implementation and monitoring of remedial actions
- Collection of remediation confirmation samples
- Preparation of site-cleanup reports
- Preparation of requests for No-Further Action (NFA) determinations
- Agency negotiations
