Asbestos Surveys and Abatement
148 Bank Branch Locations, Washington
Prior to founding G-Logics, Mr.
Galloway managed OSHA-Level asbestos surveys for 148
Washington Mutual Bank Branches located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana,
and
Utah. This work occurred over a two-month period, adhered to strict project
deadlines that

could not be extended, and included substantial
coordination with other project-team contractors.
Mr. Galloway mobilized survey teams in all five
states within one week of notice and coordinated
work with another consultant who was
simultaneously providing similar services at an
additional 150 locations.
The purpose of the survey work was to
identify
possible asbestos containing building materials
(ACBMs) that may have been present in the
planned route for the installation of a computer-
network system. When ACBMs were identified,
Mr. Galloway worked with contractors to
redesign
the installation route to avoid these materials. When the route
could not be
modified, Mr. Galloway coordinated with qualified abatement contractors
for asbestos
removal. The removal of these materials was completed before installation of the equipment and without temporary branch closures. Mr. Galloway standardized the asbestos survey forms for this project to increase project efficiency and reduce survey costs.
Information regarding ACBM obtained during the
survey was entered into a relational database for
future
ACBM management needs. Our work was
completed on schedule and under budget despite
the three-day notice to start work, the logistics of

winter travel, and the limited staff availability throughout the Christmas holiday season. Additionally, all bank branches operated without interruption throughout the survey and abatement process.
