Area-wide Lead and Arsenic Contamination
Seattle, Washington

Prior to starting G-Logics, Mr. Galloway was the project
manager for Phase I and II contamination investigations at
15 Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) water-tower properties.
These investigations identified lead and arsenic
contamination in surface soils around most of these
towers. In several instances, the contamination had
spread to adjoining off-site residential properties.

To assess the extent of the site contamination, Mr.
Galloway prepared investigation workplans, conducted soil
sampling, and prepared site-assessment reports. When

contamination was discovered, Mr. Galloway prepared remedial-option summaries, cleanup workplans, contractor specifications, and remediation reports.

Where contaminants had spread to adjoining off-site residential properties, Mr. Galloway worked with a Senior Toxicologist to help address the risk to the neighboring properties and to develop public-communication information. The King County Health Department reviewed and approved these hazard-communication documents before their distribution.

Mr. Galloway subsequently managed cleanup work at multiple SPU and residential properties, which included the removal and off-site recycling of the contaminated soil. Cleanup Action Plans, including site restoration plans, were developed to meet property-owner requirements. SPU performed voluntary cleanups for these sites following the prepared plans and in accordance with Washington's Model Toxics Control Act regulations and guidance under the Voluntary Cleanup Program.
